
India and Canada will increase friendship
Both India and Canada have been stressful in the last few years but now the two countries are taking steps to reduce the increased diplomatic tension in recent years amidst the tariff threats of Donald Trump. According to a Bloomberg report, both India and Canada had expelled their ambassadors from each other’s country last year. After the increased sourness in the relationship and the expulsion of the ambassadors, both are now considering sending their ambassadors back.
Let us tell you that in the last October, India had called back its High Commissioner and also expelled six Canadian diplomats, as in June 2023, Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar’s murder was declared in the investigation of Canadian officials.
Daniel Rogers met Ajit Doval
Bloomberg’s report further stated that Canadian intelligence chief Daniel Rogers attended an intelligence conference organized by National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in New Delhi last week. The report said that the possibility of meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Canadian counterpart Mark Karney cannot be ruled out during the Group of Seven Summit in Alberta in June. One reason for this is that India is the supervisor of the G-7.
Tension increased between Canada-India since 2023
In the last few years, the tension between India and Canada had increased considerably, but now both countries are trying to reduce it. Amid threats by US President Donald Trump’s tariff, both India and Canada are taking steps to reduce diplomatic tension. The relationship between the two countries was spoiled after the murder of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar in Canada. Now both countries want to resolve the matter through dialogue.
