A case of Chinese hackers hacking the US Treasury Department has come to light. According to US officials, a Chinese state-sponsored hacker broke into the systems of a third-party software provider of the Treasury Department and obtained several employee workstations and some unclassified documents.
This burglary took place in early December, about which the Treasury Department has now given information. The department has written a letter to the MPs informing them about this. Describing this burglary as a ‘major incident’, the department has informed that the FBI and other agencies are jointly investigating what could be the consequences.

A Joint Security Group report released on January 7, 2024 said that Chinese hackers kept infiltrating American infrastructure for five years and the agencies here came to know about it much later.
In this report, it has been said that Chinese hackers groups obtained a lot of information about important sectors of America like communication, energy, transportation system and waste-water management.

The biggest danger is that if the conflict between America and China becomes too big, then by using the information that China has collected through its hackers groups, it can create a very difficult situation for America and its allied countries.
