Google Pay has started charging several transactions fees. Google Pay has imposed 0.5 per cent and 1 per cent fees on debit cards and credit cards. Paytm and Phonpe have also started charging fees for mobile recharge.
Significantly, the government was still giving subsidy on transactions below Rs 2,000. Every year, a burden of Rs 12,000 crore comes for Person 2 Merchant Transaction. The burden of transaction less than Rs 2,000 is Rs 4,000 crore.
When did you get a subsidy
The government received a subsidy of Rs 2,600 crore in the year 2023 for this item. At the same time, in the year 2024, the amount of this subsidy was Rs 2,484 crore. At the same time, this subsidy has been reduced to Rs 477 crore for the year 2025.
