Annie Thomas Gabriel, a resident of Kerala, left for Tamil Nadu on 5 February, but reached Israel-Jordan border. Where he died on 10 February.
An Indian citizen has been shot dead on the Israeli-Jordan border. He has been identified as Annie Thomas Gabriel (47), a resident of Thumba, Kerala. Gabriel was trying to enter Israel’s border with theft. Then he was shot by Jordan soldier.
The Indian Embassy in Jordan has given information about the incident. The embassy said that they are in touch with the family of the deceased and are trying to bring his body. Gabriel’s family has reported that they received an email from the Indian Embassy on 1 March in which the death of Annie Thomas Gabriel was confirmed. It reported that the incident took place on 10 February.

Gabriel returned to work in Kuwait for five years
His relative Edison, who went to Jordan with Gabriel, said that Gabriel returned to Kerala after working for five years in Kuwait. The two left for Jordan on 5 February. He was taken by one of his agent friend Biju Jalas Jordan. Arriving there, he tried to get Israel’s visa, but a group of 10 people were needed for a tourist visa.
Edison said that we were only four people including a British citizen. The four people reached Jordan on a 3 -month -old tourist visa. The British citizen returned when we did not get Israel’s tourist visa. He promised that he would bring more people with him.
After this, Gabriel, Edison and Biju tried to cross the border with the help of a guide. On 9 February, Gabriel called at home and told the family that we are going to Israel, praying for me. He was caught by Jordan’s army while trying to cross the border.
Edison said that I requested those soldiers to allow us to call at home, but it was of no use. Jordan’s soldiers did not understand their language, so they opened fire on them.
Gabriel reached Jordan after spending 3 lakh rupees
After returning from Kuwait, Gabriel approached an agent to go to Jordan. He also paid about 3 lakh rupees for this. However, his passport number got an additional point after which he was sent back.
The agent assured that next time Thomas would be sent to Jordan along with others. For this, Gabriel and Edison took Rs 3.10 lakh for visas and air tickets from both.
He was promised that he would get a job in Israel, which would get three lakh rupees a month. Both of them had signed an agreement to give Rs 50,000 every month to the agent every month in the first 8 months of getting the job confirmed.
On February 10, when he was to leave for Israel, his agent Biju retreated at the last moment and gave someone else to the group to Israel. He was accompanied by two Sri Lankan youths.
