The gross GST collection in February has increased by 9 percent to about Rs 1.84 lakh crore. This information was given in the official data released on Saturday. Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) revenue includes Rs 1.42 lakh crore with an increase of 10.2 percent in domestic revenue and Rs 41,702 crore with an increase of 5.4 percent in revenue from imports. According to PTI news, according to data, during this month, Rs 35,204 crore from Central GST, Rs 43,704 crore from state GST, Rs 90,870 crore from integrated GST and Rs 13,868 crore from compensation cess.
Total refunds were Rs 20,889 crore
According to the news, the total refund released during February was Rs 20,889 crore, which is 17. 3 percent more than the same period of a year ago. During February 2025, the net GST collection increased by 8.1 percent to about Rs 1.63 lakh crore. In February 2024, gross and pure GST revenue was Rs 1.68 lakh crore and Rs 1.50 lakh crore respectively.
Collection was Rs 1,76,857 crore in December 2024
In the last month of last year, in December 2024, the GST collection rose 7.3% to Rs 1,76,857 crore, compared to Rs 1,64,882 crore in December 2023. The Central GST Collection (Collection) was Rs 32,836 crore, the state GST was Rs 40,499 crore, the integrated IGST was Rs 47,783 crore and the cess was Rs 11,471 crore. The total GDP and Services Tax (GST) revenue in December increased by 7.3 percent to Rs 1.77 lakh crore, compared to Rs 1.65 lakh crore in the same month.
GST i.e. Goods and Services Tax was first introduced in the budget speech presented on 28 February 2006. It laid the foundation for full improvement in India’s indirect tax system. Finally it was implemented on 1 July 2017 as the Goods and Services Tax Act.
