The report said, “The most difficult skills in India include technical/ IT skills such as software development, engineering (44 percent), AI skills (34 percent) and skills such as communication and problem-solution (33 percent).” This shortage of qualified candidates for employment is forcing companies to be selective in their recruitment processes.

Companies doing selective recruitment

According to the report, companies are adopting the method of ‘selective recruitment’ in the year 2025. In terms of the needs of the selective recruitment organization, there is a process of appointment and selection of the right people with appropriate qualities. The report states that more than half of HR professionals in India will consider only those candidates (55 percent) and recruitment (54 percent) who fulfill 80 percent or more criteria of the qualification prescribed for the job. Anand, the head of talent and learning solutions in LinkedIn, stressed on prioritizing skills for recruitment, saying, “AI is changing our way of appointing and developing AI talent, but the real challenge is to make AI workable for business.” Often companies put resources in the AI ​​tool without the right talent, due to which they are unable to take advantage of the dice overturning opportunity. He said, “To get out of this cycle, companies need to be hired with the mentality of giving priority to skills. AI can be innovated, but human skills like creativity, communication and cooperation will help companies to be really ahead of change. ‘
