Scam without telling OTP
Generally, people have to authenticate OTP or One Time Password to make any digital payment online. Scammers trap people in their nets in different ways and detect OTP and fraud. These days, scammers are fraudulent with people without asking OTP. For this, he has adopted the method of new call merging scam. Prior to this, scammers were fraudulently fraudulently trapped in the net of missed call scam.
In call merging scams, scammers call people in the name of job interview or event and say that their number is found from a friend or person who knows. After this, the scammers ask people to assure people that your friends from the second number are calling, you can confirm by merging the call. Actually, it is not a friend, but a call from your bank or credit card issuing institute. Here you are told OTP for transaction. Due to the call merging, this OTP scammers get to know and then get fraud with you.
For digital payment, OTP is available through a message or call on either registered mobile number. Scammers choose a calling option for OTP to pay with your bank or credit card. Then you are asked to merge the call and after listening to OTP, money is withdrawn from the account or card.
How to avoid
To avoid getting caught in the trap of cyber criminals, you should first be cautious. Ignore the calls and messages coming from any unknown number. Android smartphone users can turn on the spam detection feature in their phone. For this, the call will have to go to the call settings. After this, this feature can be enabled by going to the option with spam call filter. By doing this, you can avoid the call coming from the unknown number.
