Instructions to remove Chinese apps from Google Play Store
The government has once again instructed to remove 119 Chinese apps from Google Play Store, making digital strikes once again. These apps have a link to developers of China and Hong Kong. Most of the apps banned include video and voice chat platforms. All these apps were list on Google Play Store in India. According to a recent report, India’s national security and sovereignty threatened through these apps. India first banned hundreds of Chinese apps, including Tiktok, Shareit, in 2020, in 2020.
Digital strike again
According to the Money Control report, these Chinese apps, which were banned in the Luon Database operated by Howard University of America, are listed. On 20 June 2020, India banned more than 100 Chinese apps. Apart from this, many more Chinese apps were banned in India in 2021 and 2022.
The Central Government has ordered the Chinese apps to be banned under the IT Act 69A. Some apps in the banned apps also contain some of Singapore, USA, UK and Australian developers. According to the report, the Central Government has banned their public access by banning apps. According to the report, 15 out of 119 apps have been removed from the Google Play Store, while other apps are still present on the Play Store.
These apps were banned
Of the banned apps, only three apps are mentioned, with a Singapore -based video chat and gaming platform Chillchat. This app has been developed by the Mangostore team. This app has more than 1 million downloads on the Google Play Store. Apart from this, Chinese Apps Changapp is also mentioned, which has millions of downloads. At the same time, the Honeycam app developed by the Australian company is also named in this list. This app is used for photo filters.
