Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti is celebrated every year on 19 February across Maharashtra. The day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of the great Maratha warrior and skilled administrator Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, who left an indelible mark in history with his valor, strategy and justice rule. On this occasion, processions, tableaux, cultural programs and speech competitions are organized in Maharashtra. People pay tribute by offering garlands on the idols of Shivaji Maharaj. This day is not only a chance to remember their bravery. Customers are advised to handle the work related to the bank in advance. However, net banking and digital service will continue. People will have to settle their work before or after the bank closure.
Banks’ holiday list in February 2025 – According to the states
Banks are closed on all national and local festivals, jubilee, Sunday of every month, second Saturday and fourth Saturdays. All bank branches are open on the first, third and fifth Saturdays. Banks will remain closed for 14 days in February.

Wednesday, 19 February: Banks will be closed on the occasion of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti in Belapur, Mumbai, and Nagpur.
Thursday, 20 February: Banks will remain closed on the occasion of State Day in Aizawl and Itanagar.
Wednesday, 26 February: Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Bengaluru, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kochi, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Srinagar and Thiruvananthapuram will remain closed on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

Sunday, 16 February: Weekly holiday.
Saturday-Sunday, 22 and 23 February: Fourth Saturday and weekly holiday.
