The report of the committee related to Waqf is going to appear on the floor of the House soon. According to information received from sources, on the last day of the budget session on 13 February, the parliamentary report related to Waqf will be placed on the floor of the House. Please tell that a few days ago the Parliamentary Committee accepted the report with a majority. This report included amendments suggested by the members of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Report has been submitted to Om Birla
The report of the Joint Committee of Parliament (JPC) of Parliament reviewing the Waqf Amendment Bill has been submitted to the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, Om Birla. JPC President Jagdambika Pal submitted the report of the committee to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla. Let us tell you that the Waqf Amendment Bill was introduced in Parliament in August last year. However, the bill was sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee amidst the opposition’s uproar.
Majority reported report
JPC accepted Waqf’s 655-page report with a majority of 15–11. It contains suggestions given by BJP members. However, opposition members have disagreed over the report. Opposition parties are calling the Waqf Bill an attack on the constitutional rights of the Muslim community and intervention in the functioning of Waqf boards.

Let us tell you that the Central Government introduced the Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament to bring modernity, transparency and accountability in the management of Waqf properties. The Bill aims to amend the Waqf Act, 1995 to resolve issues and challenges related to regulating and managing Waqf properties.
