Sources say that big players like Apple, Foxconn and Lenovo are not likely to affect the expansion plan.

A senior government official said on the condition of anonymity, ‘The Ministry of External Affairs has raised the issue with its Chinese counterparts. The Ministry of External Affairs is aware of the situation regularly and things are getting better. The situation is gradually changing. This issue has been going on for the last 5-6 months and if the situation worse again, the Ministry of External Affairs will take action again.

An industry executive aware of the case said that the affected companies are constantly informing officials of the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology through their representatives in this regard. While the Ministry of Information Technology is talking to the Ministry of External Affairs in this regard. Many companies need large equipment to expand manufacturing plants outside China. Experts say that such high-tech machinery is not available in India and needs to be imported from China to increase capacity.

Last year i.e. from the second half of 2024, China has started imposing restrictions on the export of large equipment related to manufacturing. The move aims to brake at the speed of global expansion of electronics companies like Apple and Lenovo. However, another source says the issue is not limited to electronics companies only.
