Sri Lanka has announced its team for the 2 ODI series against Australia. Sri Lanka has elected a 16 -member team for this series in which Charith Asanka has been made the captain. Apart from this, batsmen like Pathum Nisanka, Kusal Mendis and Inishaka Fernando have also got a place. At the same time, players like Lahiru Kumara, Mohammad Shiraz and Ishaan Malinga have been included in the bowling.
Last month was defeated
The Sri Lankan team played a 3-match ODI series on a tour of New Zealand last month, in which they had to face 1-2 defeat. Now the Sri Lankan team will forget this defeat and win the series against Australia before the Champions Trophy and would like to start their campaign with the increased confidence in the Champions Trophy.
The only ODI match was to be played between Australia and Sri Lanka, but a ODI was further increased due to the preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Now the 2 -match ODI series will be played, which will begin at the R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo from 12 February. The second ODI match will be played on 14 February. The match will also be held at R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo. Recently a 2 -match Test series was played between Sri Lanka and Australia. In this series, Australia made Sri Lanka a 2–0 clean sweep. Australia has already reached the World Test Championship i.e. WTC final, where it will face South Africa team.
