In the last three years, different airlines have included 255 air passengers in the ‘No Fly List’ for several reasons. Giving information about this in the Rajya Sabha on Monday, the government said that due to misbehavior, quarrels and incidents of assault with crew members, so many passengers have been banned by the airline. According to PTI news, according to data shared by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, a total of 82 people were placed in the no fly list list in 2024, while in 2023 the number was 110 and 63 in 2022.
This rule is to appeal
According to the news, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol said in a written reply that there are sufficient regulatory structures to ensure good order and discipline safety in the aircraft/property/aircraft and deal with illegal/disruptive behavior in the aircraft. The inclusion of the ‘No Fly List’ may appeal before the Appellate Committee constituted by the Ministry within 60 days from the date of issuance of the order. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has made criteria related to dealing with passengers in such cases.
37. 41 crore passengers handled in FY 2024
The committee is chaired by the Retired Judge of the High Court, Representatives of the Passenger Association or Consumer Association or Representatives of Retired Office of Consumer Disputes Prevention Forum and airlines, who are not below the post of vice -president or equivalent. India is one of the fastest growing civilian aviation markets in the world and the country’s airport took over 37.41 crore passengers in FY 2024.
Mohol said in another written reply that in the next five years, the number of air passengers is expected to increase at a rate of about 15 percent annually.
