Recently Masood Azhar’s speech went viral. This speech was released on Jaish’s digital platform on 3 December. In this, Masood spoke against India, PM Modi and Israeli PM Netanyahu.
Azhar had said in his speech-
I feel ashamed that a weak person like Modi challenges us or a ‘rat’ like Netanyahu dances on our grave… Tell me, are there not even 300 people who can fight to get my Babri back?
Jaish-e-Mohammed did not say on which date and where Azhar gave his speech.
Apart from Parliament attack, Azhar is also the mastermind of Pathankot-Pulwama attack.
Apart from the Parliament attack, Azhar is also the mastermind of the Pathankot-Pulwama attack. Azhar is responsible for not one but many terrorist attacks in India. Apart from the Parliament attack, Masood is also the mastermind of the Pathankot attack in 2016. According to the charge sheet of Delhi Police in this case, Masood had used the cadre of Jaish-e-Mohammed for attacks on India. He also attacked Ram Janmabhoomi in Ayodhya in 2005 and CRPF soldiers in Pulwama in 2019.
Apart from this, Masood is also responsible for the Uri attack in 2016 and the attack on the Indian Consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan. Azhar was close to al-Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden and Taliban founder Mullah Omar.
Masood Azhar came to India for the first time in 1994
Masood Azhar first reached Delhi from Dhaka on January 29, 1994 by boarding a plane from Bangladesh. In 1994, Azhar had entered Srinagar using a fake identity. Its objective was to reduce tension between Harkat-ul-Jihad al-Islami and Harkat-ul-Mujahideen groups.
Meanwhile, India had arrested him from Anantnag for his involvement in terrorist activities. Then Azhar had said- Soldiers of Islam have come from 12 countries to liberate Kashmir. We will answer your carbines with rocket launchers.
Four years later, in July 1995, 6 foreign tourists were kidnapped in Jammu and Kashmir. The kidnappers demanded the release of Samood Azhar in exchange for the tourist. Meanwhile, in August, two tourists managed to escape from the captivity of kidnappers. However, no information could be found about the rest.
Indian government released Azhar after plane hijack in 1999
The picture is from 1999, when terrorists hijacked an Indian plane and took it to Afghanistan.
On December 24, 1999, an Indian plane coming from Kathmandu to Delhi was hijacked by Azhar’s brother and other terrorists. He took it to Kandahar in Afghanistan, where the Taliban was ruling at that time. A demand was made to release three terrorists including Masood Azhar in exchange for the people captured in the plane.
The demands of the terrorists were fulfilled and Masood was freed. After this he fled to Pakistan. The Chinese government has saved Masood several times from being declared a global terrorist in the UNSC. In 2009, there was a proposal for the first time to include Azhar in the list of global terrorist. Then, four times in a row, China did not allow the proposal to be passed citing lack of evidence.
Declared a global terrorist in 2019
In October 2016, China again went against India’s resolution and saved Azhar in the UNSC. After this, in 2017, America raised the demand in UNSC to declare Azhar a terrorist, but China again intervened. Finally, in May, China removed its obstruction and Masood was declared a global terrorist in the UNSC.
