National Games 2025
In the Commonwealth Games 2022, the Indian team, which won the gold medal of the Women’s Force Lawn Balls event, Lovely Choubey and Rupa Tirkey on Wednesday gave Jharkhand a gold in the National Games, while Balraj Panwar strengthened his position as the top sailing player. Andaman and Nicobar Islands cyclist David Beckham Elcatochungo won his second gold medal in the Games. He won the men’s time trial one km event. He also topped Sprint on Tuesday. After completing the half phase of the games, Karnataka tops the 28 gold medal, 11 silver medals and 15 bronze medals with a total of 54 medals. The army, which won 6 gold medals on Wednesday, is in second place with a total of 46 medals by winning 27 gold medals, 10 silver medals and nine bronze medals. Madhya Pradesh reached third place with 34 medals (17 gold medals, 7 silver, 10 bronze medals). Maharashtra (16 gold medals, 35 silver, 31 bronze medals) and Haryana (12 gold medals, 19 silver, 20 bronze medals) are among the top five in the table.
Third gold came in the bag of Jharkhand
Jharkhand defeated West Bengal 18-8 in the Women’s Force final on the fifth day of the lawn balls competition. Apart from Lovely and Rupa, Jharkhand’s team has two other members Reshma Kumari and Kavita Kumari. Jharkhand won three gold medals at Lawn Balls on Wednesday. The male pair of Jharkhand of Dinesh Kumar and Sunil Bahadur defeated Bishwajit Khond and Biman Nath pair 25-4 in the final to win the gold medal. Jharkhand was given the third gold by Basanti Kumari, who defeated Suranjana Barua of Assam 21-20 in the women’s under-25 final.
Gold of men’s triple event in Delhi
Anant Sharma, Apoorva Sharma and Abhishek Chugh of Delhi won the Gold Medal of the men’s triple event by defeating the team of Alok Lakra, Abhishek Lakra and Prince Mahato of Jharkhand 25-8 in the final. In the women’s singles, Bina Shah of West Bengal defeated Sarita Tirkey of Jharkhand 21-8 and put the gold medal in her bag. In the men’s under-25 final, Uttarakhand’s excellent Dwivedi defeated Bitu Das of Assam 21-20 to win the gold. Paris Olympian Balraj Panwar, who missed the bronze medal at the Asian Games in China last year, won the gold medal in the men’s single scull event.
