Where Bangladeshis come from in Delhi and Mumbai, how they settle in these cities and become voters, was revealed on Tuesday. I was surprised to know that fake documents of infiltrators can be made in Delhi for twenty rupees each. Fake birth certificates, address proofs and fake income certificates are also made cheaply. Then the verification of fake certificates is also done without much expense and after that there is no difficulty in getting the real Aadhar Card, PAN Card and Voter Card made. That is, for twenty rupees, Bangladeshi infiltrators become citizens of India, their names appear in the voter list, they vote, take advantage of government schemes and kick you in the stomach.
This was revealed when Delhi Police caught 11 members of this gang. Of these, 5 are Bangladeshi. The story of Bangladeshi infiltrators being caught in Delhi is absolutely filmy. What happened was that on October 20, a person named Sentu Shaikh was murdered in Sangam Vihar. When the police searched his house during the investigation of this murder case, they found 21 Aadhar cards, 6 PAN cards and 4 voter IDs. All the documents were genuine. When the police strictly interrogated those who had voter cards, it was found that all four were Bangladeshi. Their Aadhar Card, PAN Card and Voter ID have been made. It was Sentu who brought him from Bangladesh to India and he was killed in a dispute over money. After this the investigation changed direction.
The task of bringing Bangladeshi citizens to India was very easy for Sentu Shaikh. Everyone’s role was fixed. Sentu Shaikh used to infiltrate people from Bangladesh into India through West Bengal. These infiltrators earlier used to come and stay in Bengal and Jharkhand. From there they slowly came to Delhi. In Delhi, Sentu Shaikh introduced them all to Sahil Sehgal, who ran a computer centre. Here a birth certificate could be made for seven rupees and an income certificate could be made for twenty rupees. At this centre, fake birth certificates, education certificates and income certificates of Bangladeshi infiltrators were prepared. After this, real Aadhar and PAN cards were made on the basis of these fake documents.
Not only in Delhi, from Assam to Kerala and from Bengal to Maharashtra, tremendous action was taken against Bangladeshi infiltrators on Tuesday and shocking revelations were made. What troubled the most is that the Bangladeshi terrorist arrested by the Assam Police from Kerala has links with Al Qaeda. He was an active member of Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT). This organization is banned in India, Britain, America and Bangladesh but this Bangladeshi infiltrator was preparing a network of sleeper cells for Ansarullah in India.
Similarly, the Bangladeshis who were caught in Maharashtra on Tuesday had become voters. The surprising thing is that he also cast his votes in the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections but no one was aware of it. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that a campaign will be launched in Maharashtra to identify Bangladeshi infiltrators, detention centers will be built and Bangladeshis will be deported as soon as possible. But the question is, is it so easy to catch Bangladeshis? Even if caught, how difficult will it be to deport them?
The issue of Bangladeshis in Delhi is not just legal and technical, it is completely political. Muslims who came from Bangladesh were earlier the vote bank of Congress. Now he is with Aam Aadmi Party. When the search for them started in Delhi and names started being deleted from the voter list, Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal asked many questions. Asked why the Home Ministry could not stop the Bangladeshi people who crossed the border from Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand and came to Delhi.
Generally, whenever Bangladeshi infiltrators are discussed in the country, it is seen from the perspective of vote bank. But this issue is very big and serious. You will be surprised to hear that twenty years ago in 2004, the government had told the Parliament that the number of Bangladeshi infiltrators in the country is about two crore. At that time it was said that there were 6 lakh Bangladeshi infiltrators in Delhi alone.
Then in 2013, the UPA government had also given similar figures but no serious effort was ever made to identify Bangladeshi infiltrators, arrest them and send them back. This issue has arisen in the last few years, now action is being taken. But the problem is that the easier Bangladeshis enter our country, the more difficult it is to get them back, because it is the job of the investigating agencies to prove someone as a foreigner. Infiltrators do not have documents with which they can be easily proved to be infiltrators. This case continues for years.
In the last three years, 686 Bangladeshis were caught in Mumbai but only 222 could be deported. The remaining cases are still going on in the courts. Bangladeshi infiltrators come and settle here and violate the rights of the people of India. Many of them are involved in criminal activities. Since the police do not have any record of them, they are not easily caught. Overall, these people become a problem for both the society and the police. Therefore, I feel that instead of doing politics on the issue of infiltrators, leaders of all parties should come together. The government and investigating agencies should be supported in flushing out the infiltrators. (Rajat Sharma)
