Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government has launched several schemes to make women financially empowered, one of which is the Women’s Honor Saving Certificate Scheme. The scheme was introduced for women to give financial self -sufficiency through savings and investment. The last date to invest in this scheme is March 2025. However, now the question is whether the government will extend the deadline of this scheme in the budget? If the time increases, women will have another plan for them.
Women’s Honor Savings Certificate Scheme
The Post Office’s Mahila Samman Saving Certificate scheme has been launched, especially for women and girls. This scheme gives women the option of safe and attractive investment.
Interest rate: The plan gets an interest of 7.5% annually.
Investment Limit: In this, women can invest a minimum of Rs 1,000 and a maximum of Rs 2 lakh.
Maturity: The scheme is matured in 2 years, in which interest is paid along with the amount of invested.
Tax Benefit: The scheme is exempted under Section 80C of the Income Tax Act.
2.32 lakh funds in 2 years
Investing Rs 2 lakh in the Women’s Honor Saving Certificate Scheme, you get Rs 2.32 lakh in 2 years. The interest is deposited in the bank account on a quarterly basis. This scheme not only inspires women to save, but also gives them the option of a safe and beneficial investment.
What will increase investment time?
Women are expecting the government to extend the deadline of this scheme. So far no official announcement has been made by the government. However, if the government expands the scheme in the budget 2025, it will be a major relief for women.
Special features of the plan
It can be discontinued after 6 months of opening an account, but the interest rate will be reduced by 2%.
40% amount can be withdrawn after 1 year of opening an account.
The account can be closed when the account holder dies.
