Ceasefire deal will be completed in three phases

On 15 January, Joe Biden said that this deal will start in three phases from Sunday, January 19. In this, hostage will be swapped for 42 days.

First Phase:

  • From January 19 to March 1, there will be a complete ceasefire in Gaza. Hamas 33 will release Israeli hostages. Israel will release 33 Palestinian prisoners in lieu of one of its hostages daily. 50 Palestinian prisoners will be released in lieu of each Israeli female soldier.

Second phase:

  • If everything goes well by the 16th day of the first phase, that is, 3 February, the negotiation on the second phase plan will begin. During this time no attack will be carried out. The remaining hostages will be released alive.
  • Israel will release 1 thousand Palestinian prisoners, out of which around 190 prisoners have been serving sentence for more than 15 years.

Third Phase:

  • Gaza will be resettled in the last phase of this deal. It will take 3 to 5 years. The bodies of hostage killed in Hamas’s possession will also be handed over to Israel.
