22 Lebanese civilians killed in Israeli firing

There were demonstrations in South Lebanon on Sunday, January 26, regarding the withdrawal of Israeli troops. These protesters were demanding withdrawal of the Israeli army under the ceasefire agreement. During this, the Israeli army opened fire on the protesters.

According to the Lebanese Health Ministry, 22 people died and 124 were injured in this firing. The dead included six women and a Lebanese army soldier. People from 20 villages in the border area have been injured in this firing.

According to CNN report, many protesters were trying to enter the villages with Hezbollah flags.

France and America had conducted ceasefire

There was a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah with the mediation of America and France. After which Israel’s War Cabinet approved a ceasefire deal in Lebanon for 60 days.

Just hours after the ceasefire started, people from northern Lebanon started returning to southern Lebanon. After Israel’s deadly missile attack on September 23, thousands of families left their homes and went to seek shelter elsewhere.

According to the Times of Israel, hundreds of people were seen returning in Beirut on bikes and vehicles on Wednesday morning towards the cities of Sidon, Ghaziyeh and Tyre. People were returning to the city carrying Hezbollah flags and photos of slain leader Nasrallah.
