US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that Jordan and Egypt should accommodate more Palestinians from Gaza. According to Reuters, Trump said that almost everything in Gaza has been ruined and people are dying there. Palestinian militant organization Hamas said on Trump’s statement that we will not accept any such proposal. Whatever the intention behind it. If they think that they will forcibly remove the Palestinians from here, then it is impossible.
At the same time, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich welcomed Trump’s proposal. He said it was a great idea to help the people of Gaza find somewhere else to start a better life. The solution to peace and security will be found only by thinking outside the box.
23 lakh people had to be displaced
Trump told that he has talked to King Abdullah of Jordan on the phone regarding this. Along with this, we will also appeal to the Egyptian President regarding this on Sunday. Trump did not give any further details about this proposal.
Due to the ongoing fighting between Israel and Hamas in Gaza for 15 months, 23 lakh people were displaced. While about 60% of the buildings have been destroyed. It may take decades to rebuild them.

More than 2 million Palestinian refugees in Jordan

According to the United Nations, more than 2 million Palestinian refugees live in Jordan. Most of them have been given permanent citizenship of Jordan. At the same time, thousands of Palestinians have fled to Egypt since the start of the war with Israel on October 7, 2023, but they have not been recognized as refugees there.
Due to the war in Gaza, 23 people were forced to leave their homes and go to other places.
Hamas has released 7 Israeli hostages so far
