A major theft incident occurred late on Thursday night in Sriramnagar area of Lingaraj police station area in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. The thieves uprooted the ATM machine and looted the cash kept in it and later threw the machine into the Gangua drain. The incident happened late at night. After throwing the machine in the drain, the thieves easily escaped with cash. ATM machine has been recovered from Gangua drain.
Police have also seized an auto-rickshaw. Police suspect that this auto was used in theft of ATM machine. The investigation of the case has been intensified and efforts are on to catch the accused.
Police is searching CCTV footage
CCTV footage is being searched, so that the thieves can be identified. The police is interrogating local residents and shopkeepers so that important information related to the incident can be found. Four criminals are seen in the video of ATM theft. Everyone has covered their entire face with a cloth mask. Along with this, all the thieves have worn a jacket with cap, causing their entire head to cover. For this reason, the thieves have not been identified till now.
93 lakhs were looted in Bidar, Karnataka
A week ago, two thieves riding a bike looted an ATM van in Bidar, Karnataka. The guards posted in the van were shot dead by the accused. At the same time, the driver was also injured in firing. After robbing 93 lakhs, the thieves escaped in the bike and reached Hyderabad. Here he caught a bus for Raipur in Chhattisgarh, but when the manager of the bus company suspected him, the accused opened fire and fled from the spot.
