Manali Winter Carnival
A 19-year-old youth was murdered during the winter carnival in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Police said that the accused has been arrested. The deceased has been identified as Dakshya, a resident of Vashishtha, Manali. The incident happened backstage at Manu Rangashala on Wednesday night when hundreds of people were enjoying a cultural programme. There has been a sensation in the valley after the incident.
Program was going on in Manu Rangshala, murder in back stage
Actually, winter carnival is going on these days in the tourist city of Manali, Kullu. On Wednesday night, during the carnival, a program was going on at Manu Rangashala and a young man was murdered on the backstage. According to the police, the accused attacked the deceased on his throat with a broken glass bottle after an argument. The post-mortem of the deceased has been done and the report is awaited. Police have arrested a young man in the murder case. The police is now investigating what happened between the two, due to which Dakshya was murdered by hitting him with a glass bottle.
What did the police say?
Kullu Superintendent of Police Karthikeyan Gokulchandran said that the accused was arrested in the early hours of Thursday. He said that the reasons behind the incident are being investigated. Immediately after receiving the information, the police reached the spot and took the injured to the civil hospital. After this the police informed the family members of the victim.
Family members warned of protest with the dead body
The uncle of the deceased, Shyam Lal, while talking to the media on Wednesday night, had said that if the accused is not arrested by Thursday, they will protest by keeping the body of the deceased at Manali Chowk and the people of Manali will take to the streets. Police have registered the case and further investigation is underway.
