Banks will remain closed in Nagaland’s capital Kohima and Mizoram’s capital Aizawl on the occasion of Christmas Eve on Tuesday, 24 December 2024. Christmas is celebrated with great enthusiasm and devotion in these states. According to local traditions, a day before Christmas, people organize special prayer meetings in the church and are busy in preparations. Because of this, banks and other institutions are kept closed so that everyone can take part in the preparations for this religious festival.

However, online banking and ATM services will remain operational on this day also. The local administration has urged people to complete their banking work by December 23.
