What is a fitment factor?
The fitment factor is a multiplier that is multiplied in the existing basic salary, so that a new salary can be extracted. The fitment factor in the 7th Pay Commission was 2.57, which increased from Rs 7,000 to Rs 18,000. This is expected to be 2.86 in the 8th Pay Commission, which may increase the basic pay.
That is, if someone’s basic salary is currently Rs 18,000, then it can increase to Rs 51,480 from the multiplication of 2.86. However, the net salary may be slightly reduced, as there are also cuts like PF, tax.
Estimated salary increase at different levels
Under the 8th Pay Commission, there may be a huge increase in the estimated salary of employees at different levels.
Level-1 But the current basic salary of employees working is Rs 18,000, which can increase to about Rs 51,480. That is, they will get an estimated increase of Rs 33,480.
level 2 The current salary of the employees of the employees is Rs 19,900, which can increase to about Rs 56,914. In this way, their salary may increase by Rs 37,014.
Level-3 The current salary of employees involved is Rs 21,700, which can increase to Rs 62,062 in the new commission. This means that they will get a benefit of up to Rs 40,362.
Level 4 to Level-6 – The salary of employees like K Sub-Inspector or Junior Engineer can increase from Rs 35,400 to about Rs 1,01,244, ie an increase of Rs 65,844.
At the same time, the basic salary of average officers from level 7 to 10 can increase from Rs 56,100 to Rs 1,60,446. That is, they can have an estimated benefit of Rs 1,04,346. It consists of officers of group like IAS, IPS. This estimate has been imposed on the basis of fitment factor 2.86, and the final decision will be decided after the government’s recommendations.
