8th Pay Commission: Good news for 1 crore central employees! Know when the Terms of References will come – 8th Pay Commission Big News for Central Government Employees Check when Terms of Reference will come

8th pay commission: The news that the central employees are waiting for a long time can now come soon. The government may soon take a decision regarding the formation of members of the 8th Pay Commission. Although the official announcement has not been made yet, the preparations in this direction have been completed.

According to the Staff Side Secretary Shiv Gopal Mishra of the National Council-Joint Consultative Machinery, the government may soon approve the 8th Pay Commission. He said that the government is working on this issue and the announcement can be made anytime.

Another member, on the condition of anonymity, said that approval is going to be received soon on the Terms of Reference – Tor of the Commission. Earlier it was reported that Tor would get approval by the end of March, but now there is some delay.

Why is Tor necessary?

Terms of Reference (Tor) are the guidelines on which the Pay Commission works. As soon as Tor is approved, the government can issue official notifications for the formation of the Commission. Earlier it was expected that the 8th Pay Commission would be set up in the first week of April 2025. But now it is likely that its report may move further from March 2026.

The previous pay commissions usually take about 12 months to submit their reports. In March, the Finance Ministry said that some necessary inputs are still pending.

What does 2.86 fitment factor mean?

If the fitment factor of 2.86 is applied to the 8th Pay Commission, this may increase the basic salary of central employees. This will provide direct benefit to millions of employees and pensioners. This may be a relief news for central employees. Now everyone’s eyes are fixed on when the government makes its official announcement.
