Narmada Nitin Raju
Former world -winning shooter Narmada Nitin Raju, who was representing Tamil Nadu on January 30 at the 38th National Games being held in Uttarakhand’s capital Dehradun, managed to win the gold medal at the women’s 10m air rifle event. Narmada Nitin Raju scored a total of 254.4 at the 10m air rifle event and won the gold medal in which he also worked to create a new national record. While Narmada won the gold medal in this event, Arya Borsse of Maharashtra won the silver medal with 252.5 points while Ramita won the bronze medal by scoring 230.4 points. Narmada Nitin Raju broke the 252.9 record of Olympian Apoorvi Chandela in 2019. At the same time, Narmada missed the world record from the decimal part of just one digit.
The name of China shooter is the world record
At the women’s 10 meter air rifle event, the world record is recorded in the name of China shooter Huang Yuking, who made this record in 2024 by scoring 254.5 points in the ISSF World Cup final in Delhi. Talking about Narmada, he won the gold medal at the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event in the World Cup held in Cairo in 2023 in the year 2023. 23 -year -old Narmada has achieved this third major achievement in his shooting career.
